If it's a replica that meets similar construction and fitment quality of the original or even exceeds it (polyurethane or carbon fiber construction) I would find nothing wrong with it. In fact, you'd be smarter for buying it! Sure it's authentic Mazdaspeed, but like all fiberglass bodykits, they're gonna crack with time unless you absolutely baby the car and never drive it.

I think most people would opt for a polyurethane or carbon fiber look-alike for a similar price as the original. You have the benefit of a higher durability piece, at the same price..without the 3-4 month wait.

$250 aero kit is pretty inexpensive and kinda ghetto, so I wouldnt expect anything quality...esp since it's fiberglass... with fiberglass aero parts-- regardless of make, the '**** on a silver platter' analogy comes to mind. I wouldnt pay over 600 bucks for any fibreglass piece...future repairs are practically inevitable

Granted, high quality replicas and the shops who can make them are few and far between, but they can be had...just need to do a little searching

If you think all Japanese authentic bodykits are nice. You are wrong. It's same thing in Japan, they have high quality and low quality stuff. I have bought a couple of authentic for customers. I have seen the variations of quality among different Japanese companies. The nicest one I have seen is made by C West. The lines of the molds is so clean. No bondo on the kit at all. A+ quality. Mazdaspeed still uses some bondo to fill up the imperfection. Ask people who has the GTC wing and they can tell you that. Same thing for Knight Sports, some bondo on the kit. Abflug, the orignal one has very low quality. I actually made the knock off one fit better. It's all made of fiberglass. As long as the qualities of the fiberglass and resin are good, there shouldn't be any difference. You have to understand why the majority of the knock off's have low quality. People who want to buy knock off's usually do not spend as much money to get the authentic thing. Their budget is lower. They want it cheap. Cheap and good quality do not come together. So part of it is consumer's fault. My friend and I made a really nice copy of the Knight Sports 4 vent hood. We even made a carbon fiber version of it. No one can believe it's a knock off. They think it's the real thing. We even put it right next to the real hood. No one can tell the difference. But good stuff does not come cheap. Everyone wants to buy a carbon fiber hood for $400-500 bucks so who will pay $1200 for a carbon fiber hood or $800 for a fiberglass hood even though the quality is 100%-200% better. No trimming required. No clear coat required. Installed in 10 min. Now we are stuck with these high quality knock off hoods. We cannot compete with cheap copies or any of those $400-500 so-call carbon fiberhood. I guess now we should just make cheap stuff to fit the market. Sigh.....

LOL... I think i have chosen the easiest route of all of u.. JUST STAY THE SLEEPER ROUTE..lol... Well im doing that for 2 reasons. 1. I go 2 school and good lookings cars dont stay nice long(key marks, door dings, people running into them, car exploding like yesterday, and the occasionaly baseball that hits cars) and 2. i dont really have the money 2 do everything i want and still buy a body kit. I could really care less what a car looks like 2 a certin point. Not that im saying i would buy a yugo and make it fast but u get the point. I personaly love the looks of the stock 7 and im sure all of u do. Otherwise you wouldnt of bought them. If i was making a show car it would be another story but im doing this for a daily driver so everything i listed above and more is gona happen to it some time. Thats just life. As far as this *** post about "dont put this on there because the fd dosent deserve it" i say do what u want wit ur car. If your the one making the payment and buying the stuff go ahead. If you wanta paint your car lime green and put the mustang whale tail(the one that looks like free wileys fin) then do it. Regardless of what you do someone is not gona like it. There will always be someone that says there is something better and they have it on there car. If it pleases the owner and that is what he wants then do it. U guys need to grow up and stop saying **** bout wut people want b/c u dont like it. Hell i could go to a fiberglass shop right now and have a copy made and it would fit the same as the kits from japan. And it would only cost me a little over $700. I personaly think the kits from japan are way overpriced but thats b/c of shipping for the most part. If the guy cant afford the full 1,400k for the feed stuff then let him get his knock-off.
Dont diss a guy b/c he dosent wanta spend the money for one from japan and he is trying to make his car look good.
