I was wondering if anyone has ever done business with www.mbautosport.com before? They are selling the Feed front bumper for $250 and the 99spec lights for $250 also. Whats the catch? Actually i think i saw that out of state shipping was like $160...whew...thats alot just for shipping. Lemme know what you all think. Thanks

well, it does say "Feed style" so I suppose it's just a cheap knock off of the feed bumper.
it sure does look purty tho. That's my favorite aftermarket bumper for sure.

That is actually a copy of the '99 JDM rx7 front, with a veilside looking lip molded onto it. Very sweet looking bumper but definately not a FEED look-a-like..

I sent these guys an email, asking about fitament problems that i might run into if I bought one of the pieces.... I wonder if they are going to send me the truth of some B.S. I dunno but during the time im pushing pennies I think a front clip for 250 is a pretty good deal. Im trying to make a guess if the piece is Fiber glass or not. Hmm I guess ill wait for their reply and ill stick on here.

the kits look nice, but are very cheap knockoffs. knockoff anything...wether it be rims or kits, is truly
a car as prestigious as an FD deserves a prestigious body kit.
my .02. im sure many will agree.

my opinion is that all fiberglass kits are crap and they will crack and chip anyways. Why doesnt anybody make urethane bumpers??? is it really that difficult??

Is there any difference between the quality of these products? If there is, then i understand, but as far as I know, it is just the brand name that you are paying for.

when you have a car of a certain calibur, you just dont do some things.
would you put Katana Racing wheels on a Ferrari? would you get a carbon fiber look wing on a Lamborghini? or how about putting Tenzo R seats in a Porsche 911 Turbo?
NOTE: i am not in any was comparing an FD to the likes of the cars mentioned above. but it is the same point. you just dont do certain things to certain car.
me and DK along with many others will keep on laughing at the people who say "why pay $XXX for ________ when you can get _______ for $XX??" (right DK??)

Knock offs are a but I can understand why some people would opt for a knock off... i'm actually considering it.... some j-spec aero parts are just ridiculously difficult to get a hold of in the US and are VERY overpriced (ie: FEED) and I wouldn't mind getting a fabricated FEED front end as long as the build quality and fitment is up to par. I've seen brand new FEED hoods on Yahoo Japan for sale for less than 50% of the cost than if you were to buy it in the US.
Some knockoffs look like crap, and others are actually really good. If the mold is made from the actual kit (as opposed to a copy of a copy) there will be no differences visually... the only difference will be determined in the quality of the fiberglass.
ViS = crap
abm = never seen it....dont have an opinion on it yet.
I know some people who can make molds and can work with polyurethane and carbon fiber....anyone down for a group buy to have a set of FEED carbon fiber front ends made? I don't know about you, but I'll take a carbon fiber exact replica front end over an authentic FEED fiberglass one...

A bumper for $250 would have me worried about quality. The turn lamps are around $350 depending on where you get them.
I might get one of those bumpers to check the quality.

Constant threat
Hmmmm....I might try it....
Hell, for $250 I might buy one just to check it out, that is chump change.......if nothing else it would look sort of kick *** mounted up on the garage wall......
Here in my little town there is a guy that makes fiberglass pieces for 'Vettes.....and this guys is damned good! Has a very good client base, and the deal is, everything he makes is taken from a mold made off the real parts. They are indistinguisable from a factory part, to the average Joe.
Hell, he made a friend of mine a swimming pool slide that costs $750 anywhere for less than half that.
The point is, a good 'glass guy can fab anything and make it look good. Now that being said, I am not a real fan of fiberglass, knock off or name brand.
As for the whole "pay thru the nose for the notoriety....well that sort of reminds me of the dudes that will pay $15,000 for a Rolex......I mean, what are you saying except for, to take a line from 'Gone in Sixty Seconds, "There are too many self indulgent weiners with too much bloody money!"
I bought a Tag-Heuer Kirium Chronometer knock off the last time I was in NYC for $110. This is a $2000 watch if it is a genuine Tag.
My watch has a Swiss movement and looks and feels like the real thing. You know what though? I tell people UP FRONT that it is a knock off......just the way I am.

with a real Rolex, you get this feeling that i just cant explain. with a fake one, its just....ohh look at me, im a poseur, i try to be cool, i try to look rich, and im wearing a fake rolex!
to me, the same feeling applies with everything that there is a knockoff and a real version of.
BTW, you like TAG Heuers?? they are ****. same **** internals as a $5 watch. for real timepieces, look at Rolex, Longenes, Cartier, OMEGA, and Timex.
some people just dont understand. those people are the ones reading this right now and thinking that i am retarded. JRK, where are you??

whoa 110 for a knock off?
i'm somewhere in the middle on this, if i had the money i would buy an authentic Body Kit, but JoeD, you are kinda goin way overboard on this, you are like, "hondas have knock-off, and hondas suck, so a knockoff is the worst thing ever made" i body kit isn't a priority for my but if i did get a body kit anytime soon, i would get a knock off, and i wouldn't tell people it was authentic, it would tell them its a knockoff, but if i wanted the mazdaspeed 15th aniv replica kit and a cwest bumper it would still cost me over 2000 grand FOR A KNOCK OFF, man, that's crazy, but i think their is some nice replica's of that stuff, but the stuff i would be ashamed of putting on my car is those $300 body kits on ebay... when it comes to that, i totally agree with JoeD..
but it is totally true, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, and i would know what to expect if i got a knock, and thats why my car probably won't have a body kit anytime soon...
