FD's without pills, FACT OR FICTION?

I have searched and did not find any conclusive threads. Are there in fact members that have not found ANY pills in their lines or nipples? I'm referring to cases in which it is almost certain there was not any previous work done on the vacuum lines. Thanks for looking.

All FD's came with either restrictor pills, or restrictors in the nipples (later models).

so say I leave in the pills and install my profec b, I will only see a miximum of 7psi?

When I installed the controller, I did not see any pills in the lines, so from what I have read the restrictors were biult in the nipples which need to be drilled out. When drilling, do I simply drill the opening out to the I.D. of the nipple?

When I reserviced my turbos the engineer replaced the pipes where the pills where without knowing or tell me. My 7 only did 7psi not matter what I did to try to improve it. It took me a year to discover it (just a month ago). Once I put them back I have a perfect 12-10-12psi. The only good side of this is that I revisited and upgraded all the boost systems. Now it double fun with my FD.

When you got to full boost without your pills did your fuel cut off right away?

Without the pills your boost will be limited by the wastegate spring (which is about 7psi). In other words, you shouldn't be hitting fuel-cutoff.

pills

on my fd, i have a apexi intake, dp, mp, and catback. this is too many mods with the stock pills, ill end up boosting too high, i think. so i took the pills out on the two vac lines that run to the wastegates from manifold. this keeps my boost at about 8 or 9 lbs. am i allowed to do this.?

One of the pills is the pre-control for the secondary. Removing that one can cause a big spike.

heres my problem, I don't remember ever seeing the pills when i installed my turbo lines and I haven't had a chance to pull them again to check, but when my second turbo begins to spool my fuel cuts out. Any advice? also with a pfc can this be fixed with out buying new pills?

i really dont have any spikes though. its a really good pattern. boosts to 8, creeps up to 9. drops back to 8. the back to 9.

Removing that one will cause a 7 psi primary and a 10 psi secondary as long as the wastegate pill is still in line.

I dealt with this problem a month and a half ago.
