Mazda needs to figure out how to build something very very similar with only the required emissions and safety upgrades. Probably much easier said than done, especially in the case of emissions. The body does not need any updates from the 99+ revisions.

That is certainly the truth. Dodge has done a good job with the Challenger but I can't think of much else. The accountants would screw the whole thing up...gotta appeal to the largest number of people. No offense to any accountants out there.

Although i agree the FD is timeless, we need to find a legit article to cement these true statements.

We really dont get any credit for anything and when we do, its flawed lol.

Sometimes i think they do that on purpose.

As much as I would love to see Mazda create another real Rx7. I am almost glad that they won't.

My reasoning.... Our cars are not for everyone. Yes they look amazing and turn heads everywhere. But because they are older & known to be unreliable, the require a certain kind of owner. I believe that factor scares away most average people that just want a cool fast car.

If Mazda created another new Rx7, it would turn into a Mustang, new Camaro, or STI. You would see them everywhere because, yes they are "cool" fun car's, but all you need to purchase one is some cash. How many Rx8's do you see a day?....

No thanks...

I think they're just going off the fact that the rotary is the brain child of Felix Wankel. Despite the fact that the Japanese did everything to make the rotary what it is today except invent it...

I used to have that mentality back in the day when i first got my FD.

I was scared that if mazda made a new rx7, people wouldnt care about our FD's because its old and a thing of the past and the new modern, cooler, faster (hopefully), reliable (hopefully lol), rx7 will take throne of the rx7 name.

But then i started to realize that people appreciate the name more when a newer version comes out.

I mean look at the challenger, the camaro, the GTO still. Ever since those modern models came out, the older versions from decades back are being bought and restored more often.

My friend was trying to find a GTO and he couldnt find one. Back in the day, like 10 years ago they were everywhere. I wouldnt know because i never followed that market but he said he shoulda bought a GTO 10 years ago when they were easy to get. Now he cant find a good one.

I cant say for a fact that the newer versions are the cause of this but it seems like it, going by the pattern.

That being said, i do hope they bring another rx7 out. I just hope they get it right this time.

hey dont knock the cym!@!

i think the CW and and BB and CYM were the best colors. if i had to choose it would be cym-cw-bb in that order, but thats just my taste.

i would love to see a newer rx7, i mean i dont see many rx8s around and when i do its normally women driving it, i seriously think it attracts them like the VW bug but they want something bigger so they get the 8.

i would not mind if other owner people who wanted a newer 7 to just drive a fast cool car around.

Maybe the companies who would start making aftermarket parts and such for the newer model would make it for the older one also.

FD's are unmatched as they are. There has not and will not ever be a car quite like it.

I think I need to go sit in my engineless FD now
