man you geys are hella stupid, the third gen rx7 by far is the sickest car ive ever owned. I would pick it over a supra any day. I have 50 thousand original miles and i havnt had one problem with my car. Its all thoes stupid kid who watch fast and the furious then go blow the motor, who gives the rx7 a bad name. If you dont know anything about the car then dont get one. Only people who truly appreciate the car should own it.

Ditto!
Yet, don't forget about used car fact. No one really know what will happen or has really happened w/ the car. I figure any buyer should has about 22k+ in hand before buying any FD. If you spend 13K on the car, then keep 9K just in case the motor blow soon.

haha, calm down man. most of the FC owners love 3rd gens, but, like FCs, can have a few bugs.
and as far as "fast and the furious kids," yea, i'm sure they're all out buying nice, low mileage 3rd gens to screw up. riiight.
look, the car can have a few weak points. sheesh. pull the thong out of your ***. its not a big deal.

in my opinion the FD is a great car. i just bought mine not too long ago (wanted one since i was 13) and spent years prior reading about the car. granted there are still some things that i have to learn about it. but i do know that with proper maintainence, especially preventative maintainence, she'll last you for quite some time.

If you can afford a $30,000 car buy a FD. Don't let the $15,000 purchase price trick you into thinking its a $15,000 car. You'll be spending probably $250/mo on average in parts for the first year or two until you get all of the bugs worked out. After that you need to be able to afford $5k for engine rebuild.

Just my 2c. I have 48000 on my '95 Base RX7 and have no real problems other than a nervous tach. I am behind on routine maintenance. Have the original engine, clutch, shocks, brakes, etc. I am on the second set of Yokohama A028s. I am in AZ so it is HOT. You really need to know how to operate turboed engines in high ambient temps. This is my 6th rotary in 32 years. My '79 RX7 had 220,000 miles when I retired it. You take care of them and they do the same fot you.

The FC TII looks like a Honda in terms of reliability when you put it next to an FD.
Got any tips? I'm curious. I live in Palm Springs, CA and it gets really hot during the day...
