FD What Tires Are You Running and What Are Your Usages
So as the title states I feel as though its about time someone starts a thread about what tires the community is running on their cars and what the usage of the car is along with how it performs. I searched the forum and haven't found anything besides the wheel fitment guide but thats not tires, being as everyone here most likely goes through tires pretty quickly and is constantly trying to find the best tire set up for their usage.

-never tracked the car...yet haha
- The tires were much better than I originally thought they'd be on the car, under launches the tires would break loose and gradually come back in halfway through 1st gear and I'd have traction the rest of the way (337whp) And when it came to back roads the tires weren't too bad being as I would have good control over the car through out and you would know the tires were going to break loose before they did. Id experience slight understeer characteristics most likely due to the front tires being skinnier and a slight stretch to them but would very very seldom experience any noticeable rear end slip not even through 70mph on/off ramp entries. I the rain they're not too bad but like any other tire Ive driven on in these cars STAY OUT OF BOOST Personally I'd say these are a good tire for someone looking for a budget street tire without having to sacrifice much performance and still be able to have fun where these cars are meant to be...the corners.

They're pretty sticky and I never broke them loose while flooring it. I have a pretty linear power graph and I don't jab my throttle so that maybe it too. It's pretty good in the rain and I really love them on the track. I have roughly 350hp so this is pretty good for the power range.

About 4k on them, and not showing much wear.
Mods below, with about 320 rwhp.
A pretty good tire, but not as sticky as when they were new. I have a few autocrosses on them.
I would rate them 9 out of 10 for street use.

Drive to/from car shows, AutoX and track days. Need a true street tire to get me there and back that can still perform well when driven in anger. Not as grippy as a competition tire but better than 99% of what's out there on the street.

255/40-17 Toyo R1R all around.
I drive my car 90% street with a few track days thrown in (Laguna Seca is near my house). I wouldn't be on R compounds if I put more than 5-7k miles on the car per year.
The Toyos grease up pretty quick once they get hot, but they're a great tire for both track and street...Pretty good treadwear, decent grip and predictable once they let go.
255/40-17 Toyo R1R all around.

I'm running 255/35/18 front, 275/35/18 rear Michelin Pilot Super Sports on 18x9, and 18x10" wheels. I'd consider it an almost perfect TRUE street set up for anything but a really high-power car. The Super Sports are great, lots of grip, quiet, wear well for what they are. Highly recommend.
285/30/18 R888's on 18x10's for track warm up short dates where I don't want to mess with a trailer. R888's suck compared to real track tires, but they serve this purpose.

I just got them and have close to 1000 miles with the drive out to sevenstock. Really happy with them for street use, seem quite grippy for handling and acceleration.

BFG RIVALS 245/40/17, 200 TW Autocross / 1 track event . THey seem to be great for putting power down , Not so good for Turn in compared to similar tires , They start to lose grip once the tire heats up , These tires had very good lifespan for 200TW
TOYO R1R 245/40/17 140 TW , Autocross / 1 track event . These Seem to wear out much much much quicker , and basically need alot more maintenance as they get greasy very quick . ( if you autocross a sprayer is a good idea )
But when cold , and in the rain they are very good . great turn in , and great overall grip (until they heat up ofcourse)

Great tires for autocross...they warm up quickly and are very forgiving when you push them too hard. Resistant to overheating (did not require anything special between runs like spraying water on the tires to cool them down)
On the street grip is relatively low, especially in cold weather. In 1st gear at my power level if I push the accelerator down while the car is already rolling they will spin through the rest of the gear. Decent in the rain and standing water, nothing scary there.

I've had these tires for about 10 years now, and they have about 10,000 miles on them.
So my driving is uh..."occasional weekend excursion", lol.
One of the best things I like about these tires is even with extremely extended periods of 'sitting in the garage', they don't flat-spot. Very good grip in all conditions. I am extremely pleased with these tires, and have had various Potenza tires on a lot of different cars over the years, and never been disappointed with any of them.
My car makes ~ 300 hp.

When warmed up and the tire pressure in the low 20's I can hold 18psi in first through secound (a hair under 500whp) and 26PSI+ 3rd and above. Anyone on a mid-range single or low large single turbo these will hold pretty much anything you can throw at them. Handling is not to bad either.

For Autocross....if all goes well 245/45's on my stock wheels in 'R' compound yet to be chosen

These tires are fantastic (when the weather is warm) I live in the mountains of NC and drive the car hard. The tires are quiet , have excellent grip, and slide predictably. Since it has gotten cold they need a little heat in them to get the same amount of grip.
Track & Autocross use:
Hoosier sliks 245/40-16 on stock wheels
Race tires.... What else can you say...? There's nothing like em'. You never want to take them off at the end of the day.

RT-615 (and the newer -K compound) are obsolete compared to their contemporaries. You'd do better with the Dunlop Z2 or the BFG Rival if you want an extreme performance summer tire.
BTW and FWIW, to those of you running 10 year old tires... That's how I crashed my FD all those years ago. Even if they have lots of tread left, the rubber oxidizes and dries out with time and they lose their ability to grip resulting in nasty things like unexpected snap oversteer. It's just not worth the bodywork/paint bill!

I agree about the Azenis, but the Dunlop and BFGs are kind of spendy compared to the old Falkens. Those Hankook RS-3s seem to be the budget Azeni replacement for most of the guys at my local track.
Great advice about the old tires too. I got a set of rims for pretty cheap (the guy's ad said WITH tires!) but ended up just spending money to have the decade old concrete-compound tires removed and replaced. If I would have been paying less attention or flat broke and fiending to put my new wheels on, I could have been in the same boat as you.

I generally use the RE760's for street and light track duty however they get greasy quite fast which is a real bummer. The only thing I enjoyed about them was the square 255 setup which was a beast when they were new.
The AD08's tho, are by far the best street/track tire I have ever used so far. This setup handles perfect for 300whp and I find it hard to lose grip when accellerating hard out of turns now. I did not get to use them for a full track day as yet as it rained really early into the session. Turn in is excellent and it perfect for high speed and low speed tracks IMO. I would like to try 255 in the front but I think it is not needed unless add more power.
