fd stock oil pressure guage

how accurate and reliable are the oil pressure guages in a 3rd gen rx7...... as reliable as the temp guage(hehe not reliable at all ) ?

The gauge is fine, however the sending unit is prone to having problems. Usually, simply cleaning it is enough, but sometimes they do fail.

the problem i'm having is ....... it would go down to 5-15 psi..... and i'd have to quickly step on the gas then it stablizes at about 30 psi again........... when i run the car hard it always goes up to 120psi though

Have you cleaned the sending unit? It's located under the oil filter.

no i havent tried that....... but ill do it as soon as my oil settles and cools down.... dont want hot oil on my hands..... oh yeah..... what exactly do i have to do to clean it?

Just use something to remove dirt and oil. Make sure the connector is clean, may a little sanding on it.
