I'm trying to work out my custom plate order right now actually.
Way it works down under (in my particular state), we get the option of:
3 letters + 3 numbers =$250.00
6 letters = $900.00
From our "DMV" (Transport Dept in Aussie speak). I'm not spending 900 bucks on plates, so I'm going with the 3 letters+3 numbers combo. But cant decide what I want, since mine is debadged and I dont like advertising its an RX7 :p
If I paid the 900 bucks, for 6 letters I could get BATMAN lol... I enquired and its available...
Maybe RXO 007, RXO 777, MAZ 777, BAT 007... I dont know...

Also, my neighbor (her in FL) is a cop. His opinion was that no one will care as long as the tag is the right tag for the vehicle, its readable, and the registration sticker is valid.
The other thing is that we have like 200 different plate designs available here in FL, so lots of people probably think its just one they haven't seen before. lol

I've driven it around enough down here to "test the waters" and I haven't been stopped. I've even had a couple of times when a cop was right behind me, but I still wasn't stopped for it.

Also, I read the statue you posted, thanks by the way, and that tag is definitely illegal since you changed the color...It's one of the things it states in the statue... NO COLOR CHANGE....but if you read it completely, pretty much everything you do to a tag including those covers everyone buys at the autoparts is illegal as well....
Guess it's just take the risk and see what happens....
Now to come up with a color scheme to match my MB FD....

The well-known gamer term "1337" = leet = elite = better than you.
Yes, I'm a total gamer and nerd. :P
However, "1337" is also my "NEC" code in the Navy, which designates my trained specialty. Same thing as an army "MOS" basically.
