Question FD Rear Brake Question

I'm putting in new Hawk pads on my '93. When I took the old ones out, I neglected to look at how the clips that hold in the "ears" of the rear pads are installed. These clips have a tab that is bent over creating a small hole the the spring attaches to. The question I have is: Are the clips installed with the tabs toward the inside (rotor side) of the caliper or the outside of the caliper? I have looked at the manual and it doesn't say anything about it and the exploded view is so small that you can't tell. Thanks for your help.

The wear pattern or dirt marks should tell you . Go look at the old ones and match it up. Tabs will usually bend from the back of the pad over toward fiber side .

The v shaped wire springs go into small holes drilled in to the top edge of the pads metal back plate .

If you need help I can take a picture of my old brakes that I took off. But basically there is a higher side and a lower side. Once you fiddle with it those tabs can only really go in one way.
