As far as stock for my Base model I have many of the stock parts and window sticker for my car. Plus I am the 3rd owner.
I would need to pick up as set of stock turbos, remove one factory oil cooler, and stock springs.
I cannot wait til my car is done and I have it appraised for insurance reasons.

FD cost about 35k and a new 370z cost 35k. If anything you get more bang for your buck today then you did 20 years ago in the auto industry.
Am I the only one who wants to know what the inside of this looks like?

I have been told by someone in the industry that cars really haven't gotten any more expensive since the 80's despite inflation.

Yup. One thing I don't think has been mentioned in this thread is inflation.... 40k today is probably more like 30k 20 years ago.
