FD Parts Source
FD Parts Source
I was in Japan a while back and inquired about getting some FD engine parts from the local dealer. If you don't speak Japanese, this could be a problem. I have some friends that do, so now no problem. *rots of raffs*
I was particularly interested in rotor housings, which are what.....500 to 600 bucks here??? The price in Japan was surprisingly 42,430 yen, with is somewhere in the $375 USD range. Sales tax is I think 6%.
Anyway, I spoke to the customs guy on the way back and he said there is no problem carrying them back, just make sure you claim them. There is an $800 exemption, which means you could bring two housings back penalty free.
Hey it might save you $300 or $400 someday if you are going that way. Mazda requests that you have the "body number of your car". Can someone tell me if that is FD3S???

They prob want your VIN. They way a lot of dealerships work is, they input the VIN, so the computer automatically displays only the correct part for your vehicle. FD3S is indeed the chassis code, but that's too general. I'm guessing they want your complete VIN.
