FD owners, I need your opinions

I'm thinking about changing the wheels on my 3rd gen, but I'm not sure. I started with factory wheels, had them chrome plated, warped two of them during an unfortunate curbing incident that involved rush hour traffic, a HUGE wasp, open sunroof, and short pants. My tires were brand new, so I bought 16X8 Chrome BBS RX wheels. With my new suspension, and the R1 rear spoiler, I think the car looks pretty good, but sometimes I'm not sure about the wheels. Please let me know your opinions.

Also, I have enclosed some photos of my engine compartment, as I think it looks cool as hell, so let me know what you think.

LMAO

Bust out Gran Turismo, buy a red FD and go browse the wheels. Your wheels don't look bad but I think you can do better.

The wasp incident scared the sh*t out of me. Just driving along, minding my own business and enjoying the nice fall weather, when the som bitch flew in through the sunroof, hit me in the chest, rolled down between my legs, and into my left pant leg. The only way I could kill it was to crush it between my thigh and the seat. The wasp didn't like that too much, and stung the crap out of me, just below my *** cheek. I was lucky to bump the car off of the curb, instead of another car. It's funny now, wasn't funny then!!

I think your wheels look pretty good, but agree that you could do better. I currently prefer the Volk LE-37t's myself, but maybe that is because there will be a couple of FEDEX boxes at my house tonight when I get off of work

Thats funny stuff man. I hate bees so I would've probably slammed the brakes and jumped out. I would NOT kill it with my leg

Anyways I think the style of wheel like the 5star Enkie RP01 (I think) looks good on a red FD.

I read somewhere that one of the suspected causes of single car crashes was a bee/insect in the car. I guess you proved them right.

j/k, that sucks about your wheels. I actually like how the BBS wheels look, but they are way too heavy. Go back to painted stock wheels. If you want bigger wheels, save up for the Volks or SSR Competitions. A lighter wheel gives you better handling, braking, and can even improve ride quality.

I'm sorry, but that just sounds hillarious. I could see how dangerous that coulda been though, all because of a stupid bee. Those things hurt like a ****. The wheels look ok, but small. I don't get why someone would get stock sized wheels. If I were in your situation I would have sold the tires, and gotten larger and wider wheels. I really like Kinesis wheels. Gorgeous, but very expensive. I'm saving my pennies for a set of 18x9 and 18x10.

It looks good but some 18x9 Fikse FM-10s would hurt.

ACK! SUPRA! BAD! just kidding......I like th bbs style but I was never a fan of chrome on anything but a black mercedes benz I think you should shoot for either silver, black, or maybee bronze. TE-37s are very nice so are the LE_37k

I live in Frisco, and have never been to one of the monthly Saturday meetings. I've been to a couple of the dyno days at RP, but I need to get to one of the Saturday night get togethers. I'm planning on attending the 4-20-02 party, just waiting on the details!

Volk SE-37K's in black are sick and would make your car complete. Go 17's with a slight drop.

I'm thinking about getting the 17's that come on the 99 spec RS cars, but I haven't decided yet. My car has the Racing Beat springs on it, supposedly .75 inch drop in front, and 1.5 inch in the back. I have the Tokico Illumina 5 way adjustables too.

I love what you have! Those chrome BBS's are always what I have wanted to put on my montego car. I can't afford it now, but if you ever want to get rid of them give me a shout. I am local!

I had a bee incident once. I was going down the highway with the window open and hear something strike the b-pillar and then fall in my lap. I look down and see the biggest, hairiest bee I have ever seen. Aaaaack! I humped my hips up and it fell on the floor while I proceeded to smash it repeatedly with my clutch foot. I think he was unconcious after doing 75 mph into the b-pillar.

I had a bee that flew into my mouth while I was running in HS. That was fun for a couple of days!

Did you notice any different in ride btwn the BBS and Stock wheels? The stock wheels are pretty light and I think BBS are heavier right?

I think the BBS is similar to the stock in terms of looks. If you can sell them to DamonB, I would go with 17 or 18".
