Hi,

I test drove a 1994 the other day, and it was black with tan leather. I am just wondering if the seatbelts are always black on a FD with tan seats (1994). One thing that concerned me was that the seatbelts were not through the little seat belt holders on the seats, making me wonder if the car had the seats replaced.

What color combinations for interior was there available for the 93-93 FD's? By combination, I mean what color were the seats, seatbelts, and carpets.

I am also wondering about some clunking noises from the rear suspension. It clunked like a bastard, and under full throttle it wheel hopped like crazy. It was wet out, but it wheel hopped so bad it was ridiculous. Obviously the rear suspension was screwed?

Other than that the car rocked!!!!

 

the seat belt loops on the seats pop off on one side to easily attach and detach the belt.

as far as the clunk, its an rx7 so the rear bushings are bad.

 

The seat belt holders on the seats open so you can take the seat belts away from the seats. They probably just don't use the seat belts and have them disconnected from the seat, there is an arrow on the holder that shows you how to disconnect it. If it truly had tan interior a lot more than the seats would be tan. The door panels would also be tan along with the rear storage bins. The FD3S is bad for wheel hop anyway, so this may not be a sign of anything wrong. You have to ride the clutch a little to get strong launches without hop. And the clunking is normal for these cars with age, most of the time it’s the pillow ball bushings in the suspension, there are six of them that need to be replaced. The bushings are around $43 per bushing and about $21 per bushing to have them installed.

 

the 93s were all tan

the 94s had black door panels, bins, headliner, seatbelts? i think the only tan parts were the seats and carpet

 

Ugh, if you don't know, don't post misinformation!

For 94-95 cars, tan interior cars only had the tan seats and carpet. Everything else, including seatbelts, door panels, and bins is black. -- as Taikutsu suggested.

 

OK, thanks alot for the information. I can't wait to get one, but I am really picky, so it might take a while. I really look forward to the day I can take some pictures of my "new" FD and post them here!

 

Please don't hit me!! I just assumed they were the same as the 93. I was just trying to help the guy out.

 

I will install pillow ball bushings for $ 21 all day long .
