FD Injured!!!! :(

Well today after lunch I was pulling out of a parking space along side the the stores and this lady in a '03 Forester comes around the curve which you can't see around at about 35mph in a 25 and none the less its raining fairly hard. So She ends up hitting me and doing some damage to my car, bending in the front fender and popping out the vent thingy. Should be easliy enough repaired. Wondering whats its going to cost to fix .

Just the cost of new fender, paint prep and labor. Paint looks to be in good shape, so blending isn't gonna be very tough. Depends on price of the part. I'm forseeing a couple grand.

Painting I can get done very cheaply as I have in with a very good bodyshop in my area, they would just do it in between other jobs, which is no biggie as the cars going away for the winter or was supposed to be this weekend. The paint job is only 7 months old at the most so yea. Whats a new front fender go for?

So you can get me the fender and vent for like 300 hunder plus shipping? If so that would be awsome. I can have my bodyshop paint it for almost nothing as I think I still have some paint left over from the repaint, so they will only charge me prep fees and thats about it and primer cost no labor or anything.

Let me know

Alex

buy a used fender and vent the color of your car, talk to Ramy (FDNewbie) he may have some stuff left.

dont by that stuff new, from mike your looking at 450 shipped for everything new... you can find a new fender w/vent for 125 ish probably and it will most likely match damn near perfect compared to brand new paint

post in the 3rd gen WTB/FS: section

WTB: driver side fender w/ vent...

you can specify your color and maybe luck out and get one the same color, but if you know a good cheap paint shop either way you'll save money

or pm Ramy (fdnewbie) with what you need or (fritzflynn) they always seem to have extra parts lying around.

Whose fault was it? If it was hers wouldn't she be paying to fix it. If she's paying then go all out with new parts.

Not sure, but im pretty sure its my fault as I was pulling out into traffic, but her speeding might change that, but as of right now Im going with the fact that its my fault so.

Oh really? Are you a lawyer? I work for one and am studying to be one, and you're wrong. It seems you like bluntness, so I gave it to you.

I'm just north of NYC and with everything that I'm reading with FDs getting hit and the hard rain I was already a little worried about getting it home. Now I'm going to be extra slow!

Sorry that you got hit. Those look like nice rims
