FD heater hose blew after engine shutoff.. probs?
hey guys. Yesterday i drove the car to a friends house and then left it turbo timing for 1 min like i usualy do.
about 1 min later wen i returned to the car i saw that there was steam pissing out of the bonnet and i thought the stock AST had blown.
Luckily it was only a heater hose that comes out of the firewall, it had a tiny little crack in it and coolant was pising out of this small hole. Must have been a crap load of pressure in there.
Anyway , the thing that worries me is that the engine had only just been shut off and if the coolant gets emptied from the car will this affect seals in anyway? Other than this problem has had no problems in the 2 months ive had it.

Your car will be fine once you replace the hose. When the engine is of temps actually rise since there is no circulation of the coolant. That is why the hose failed at that time.
