car dies after 20sec idle..help

turn key in on position, fuel pressure is at 40 psi, turn ignition and car starts right up idles alittle rough but feels ok and then just dies after 15 to 20 seconds. Fuel pressure drops off. Car starts right up again and the same thing happens. If I turn the car off before it dies by itself the fuel pressure stays at 40 psi. Can't detect any leaks. Just installed Walbro 255 fuel pump and new lines, secondary rail with bosch 1680. Any ideas?

Thanks
Claus

Yeah, the pump may not like having the FP speed-reduction resistor switched in after warmup.

If wiring the pump doesn't fix things, you might want to check the PRC valve and associated hosing to the pressure regulator. During a hotstart the PRC valve increases fuel pressure by releasing the vaccuum supplied to the FPR.

Thansk for you responses//tried your suggestions with no joy.

In any case after some more trying around I noticed that my fuel temp is stuck. I would think that this is the problem since non of the fuel enrichment would sinc up with a static temp reading. I guess I have a bad sensor???

Thanks again

In the above I meant Coolant Temperature, not fuel temp

what coolant temp is it reading? in anycase, i dont think that that is the problem. i dont understand how coolant temp could stop you from idling.

did you even try to hotwire your fuel pump? perhaps your secondaries are flooding your engine out or perhaps you bumped the primaries while in that general area...
