havent seen it in person but i doubt its as easy as switch the passenger switch with a drivers. Most likely its possible but you might have to do a lil fabricating.

I used to have one on my old car and loved it. Tap once and the window goes all the way down or up and if you want to stop it at any point just tap the button agian when its at the level you want. I dont know about going DEI. I dont really like their products that much. Their customer service dose suck too. Good luck getting the time of day unless your a authorized dealer, and be prepared to be on hold for about 2 hours. The module i used to have i believe what made by avitar. Not sure though it was a while ago.
I guess that's the benefit of being an authorized dealer
Also, you said you had an "Avitar." What you meant to say was Avital, which is made by DEI, along with every other decent alarm i.e. Clifford, Viper, Sidewinder, etc. All DEI accessories are interchangeable between all their systems, so the module is just a DEI one, not specifically Avital, which is actually on the low end of the DEI brands. I would like to know your opinion of a better security choice, though, because I've spent a few years selling them (not just DEI) and don't think that after all the other ones I've dealt with you could convince me that anything is superior.

Umm...when you say "one touch feature" here, you're referring to remotely rolling the windows down or up? Because if so, either you're dead wrong, or I've been straight lied to.

I want keyless entry + remote operation of my windows, and every place I've talked to told me to install the relays for the windows, you need a different alarm altogether that comes w/ enough controls. Such alarms + the relays runs right around $700 - $800 installed, which is a big chunk of change...

If you were talking about the button on the interior panel to click down once and it'll roll the window down the whole way, my mistake.

The piece retails for around $150.
I have that on my other car.. I have the new clifford in my 7.. which is DEI product..

The witches on the drivers side from what I can tell are not seperable, and the switch on the passenger side looks nothing like the one on the driver side on a '94 where the drivers window had the auto down, if you pressed on the switch hard enough...

Yea i was talking about the interior button. Just the one touch feature. To hook it in with any alarm im not sure about the whole relay thing i didnt have to use it on the window module i had, most modules have them built in. Also i dont know about 700-800 for a setup. Sound like they were attempting to rape you. I'd say around 350-400 is more like it. All depends on the alram you chose. Also the window modules, most are one window up and down, or both window up OR down(you would need two module that way also to do up and down for both.) As for the alarm all you need is an alarm with one exteranal for the down function. You can set it so when you arm your alarm the windows go up. and if you want them down just hit the EXT button on your remote.

I was just talking about the interior switches for just the one touch feature. To hook it to an alarm all you need is an alarm with one EXT. You could set it up so when you arm the alarm the windows go up automatically and if you want them down just hit the ext button on your remote. As far as 700-800 thats a lil much sounds like they either didnt want to do it or they were attempting to rape you. I would say around 300-500 is more like it. All depends on which alarm you go with and what window modules. Some window modules offer one window up and down or two window up OR down, so with a module like that either way your going to need two and they cost anywhere from 70- 150 depending on brand. There are a few companies that offer a module that will do both windows up and down for around 150. Ill find one a post a link later tonight. As far as the relays, Ive installed automatic windows on about 6 different cars and ive never needed to use them. Most modules have them built it. And relays are only like $5, and easy as hell to hook up.

I think that was the question at the start of the thread. It has digressed some though.

I understand. I was hoping you could seperate the switches on the drivers side and just replace one switch. Darn.

Ive been out of it for a few years so i dont know how much its changed. Honestly not sure on the brand of the window module but ill find it and post it. As far as my choice in alarms, My faviorite alarm is not made anymore. Its the Alpine SEC-8063. I like the fact you can hook up unlimited EXT's, voltage display, and capibility to use it as a turbo timer, and in the three years i had it i never had a problem. Also like Autopage. the company i worked for for three years was both a autopage and DEI dealer and i had very few problems with autopage, and always had problems with DEI. Sure Now DEI pretty much owns everyone out there so there arnt many choices. Honestly its all person oppion. Mine is that i will never put a DEI alarm in my car. To each his own though.
