???

I don't know what to say man, I just passed MD emissions a month ago with a downpipe, and a cat-back. Also the plugs and wires had just been replaced about a month before so I was probably gettin good ignition. One thing they didn't do was run it on the rollers. They put it on there, but decided it would be too low to run. I think they said the test was restricted or something like that and next time I went (2 years later) I should tell them I had it tested being restricted. Good luck with it man.

You might want to PM ErnieT he had the same problem and found someone to pass him for a hundred bucks or something like that. I'm sure he could turn you onto the same guy if your willing to paying a little. Good luck, Joe

Your numbers looked very rich, unburned hydrocarbons. How's that air pump and main cat doing at 93K? I just pulled my precats for downpipe replacement at 62000 (EXACTLY!) and found the catalytic element honeycomb had broken and shifted. This just happened in the last 800 miles or so. I passed emissions with FLYING colors, but then my main was not yet damaged by flying pre-cat.

Check your cat system! Also, freeway driving actually cools the car pretty significantly. Letting it idle for 7 minuted before the test will let it warm nicely, though!

Thanks for all your replies guys... after taking a look at everyone's ideas and taking a look at the car I'm guessing bad ACV and/or cats... the cats are both original and I'm real close to 94K at the moment...

this is what I'm planning on doing:

-check ACV and air pump
-install the downpipe I got the other day
-order and install a Bonez high-flow cat
-replace the o2 sensor when I do the CAT and DP
-plugs only have 3K on them, but I have a spare set and a spare set of wires, may throw them on as well
-replace anything else found to be bad
-throw in some alchohol for good measure
-go test again
-have a beer

Drewroman, I would borrow someone's precat just for the test. One that you know isn't plugged up. I'd also check your black plastic catch tank under the intake elbow and clear it of any leftover fuel. Definately change your wires, and I would change your leading plugs as well, brand new Bur7EQP's will help with emmissions. Finally I would check your vacuum lines as some of them are for emmissions, just check to make sure they are all connected properly and not leaking. Good luck, and let us know of the results.
