FD Dying, White/blue smoke from exhaust

Hey guys, an FD showed up at my uncles shop and needs a fixin. The owner never said what was wrong, just decided to drop it off and get it fixed then pay the bill. I am a huge fan of the FD and it hurts me to see it suffer as much as this one has. The exterior and interior are very dirty and the engine is having problems.
I am not experienced with working on rx7 motors but from what i could see is that the engine starts up and sounds fine but then the exhaust starts to smoke like crazy. Blue and white smoke that smells like engine oil. My first guess was that the primary turbo needs a rebuild or possibly the rotor or housing is damaged. the FD is a 93 stock tt, manual (around 60k miles) and has a hks turbo exhaust system, hks mega flow intake, and hks Bov. I really want to see this rx7 running healthy again so if anyone has an idea of how to fix it please post replies. almost any help will do.

First thing I would recommend is to remove the turbos and inspect them. Check for play and excessive oil. I'm sure you'll find too much of both.

If for some reason the turbos are fine (and I doubt they are), get a compression test done on the engine.

I doubt your wastegate is the problem. Most likely, if your wastegate is the problem, you'll either see high boost (like 15-17 PSI) or 7 PSI for low. Anything lower usually means a vacuum line or turbo problem.

sounds like the engine oil seals are toast or the turbos i very leaky. i would venture to say the first one though and he needs a rebuild.

If the smoke goes away after a minute, I doubt it's your turbos at all.

Have you checked the boost levels? If it goes like 10-8-10 then the turbos work fine.

digging up an old thread but I didnt want to create a new one. Ok here is what I am noticeing.
1.) a little bit of white smoke when I start the car (sometimes) and it just passed emmissions with a high fuel concentration (the only bad spot).
2.) compression is sightly down like .5-1.0
3.) I am only getting around 4psi of boost from the car
Other than that she is driving like a champ.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please, no wild guesses, my shop is doing enough of that.
