FD center console

This is my center console:

The guys that put on my alarm drilled a hole in it and it's annoying the hell out of me. I'm wondering if Malloy Mazda carries the same kind I have in the picture. It's textured.

I do not want this center console:

Notices how this one is not textured. I heard these peal after time.

Here's another example of the center console I want:

Question - Did the R1, Touring, Base, PEP, etc. come with different center consoles?

The console in the last pic is one from a 94/95 FD. The interior pastic material is much better than the ones in the 93s which are really crappy. But keep it polished every now and then will make it last longer. Or you can have it custom covered up with either CF or whatever material you wish.

BTW, in your 1st pic, where did they drill the hole for your alarm ?

Hmm thats funny, cause the bottom pick seems to be from a 93. But anyway, yea 94+ were textured. I think the peeling panels might have been something mazda changed in late 93, but dont quote me.

I dont know, but if you were really ambitious you could fill it with something, sand it and paint it.

I spy a series-8 (99-02) steering wheel fitted to your car.

Are these series-8 upgrades getting popular in the USA for all those limited to a series-6 (92-95)..........???

they have been for a while, but most just go with the front and spoiler since 300$ for a used wheel is rather steap.

Eh...you beat me to it.

Mine is peeling too. I'm just going to paint it to bring it back to the original look.

The only interior panels you can get from Mazda these days are the 94-95 style with the textured surface. You cannot order the 93-only smooth textured panels anymore.

The console in the third pic was repainted. Notice the seam has been filled.

Nope. Just repaint it. It's simple, cheap, and can look just as good or better than a new one. Check out this link:

94 and Up have the textured plastic. While it doesn't peel, I can't say I like the look of it better.
I would just fix it and paint it myself.

Dude...get it painted...I'm going to get my done similar ,but in gunmetal, to this beautiful FD that I took a pic of while I was at the Japanese Auto Extravaganza.

The pictures make it seem brighter than it is..but it's gorgeous...

There's a super high rez version of it here, just click on the pic:

And here's a front angle of the car:

In case your wondering..it's 93..it's beautiful...one of the most pristine looking FD's I've ever seen, and it has everything, including the tool kit (never been used). He's had the seats custom reupholstered, too.

Can you actually get 93 interior pieces? I've got a 94, and I really don't care much for the textured console/gauge cluster, etc. I would be willing to trade my excellent condition 94 parts for 93 parts (even if they aren't in comparable shape )
