FD can't get it hard. Just stays in Limp Mode
Alright, here's the run down. Friday night I drove home with no problems. Saturday morning I disconnected the TPS in order to clean the contact pins since I got a little water in there the previous weekend when I cleaned the engine bay. At some point while cleaning the pins, I accidentally popped the MAP sensor hose off. Obviously when I started the car up it ran absolutely horrible and put the ECU into limp mode. It took me a few minutes until I realized what had happened. I put the hose back on and reset the ECU by pulling the NEG battery cable and stepping on the brake for 30 sec. When I started the car again it was still in limp mode. Today I let the car run in limp mode for a few minutes to warm it up, tested the TPS pin voltages, and it all checked out. I checked for any other loose connections but I couldn't find any. I still haven't been able to get the ECU out of limp mode after several attempts at resetting it.
About two years ago I had the same problem when I did the vac hose job. Someone on the forum told me to just disconnect the battery (NEG and POS) and leave it disconnected overnight. Sure enough, the car started up and ran fine the next morning. I'm trying the same procedure again tonight. I'm just wondering if anyone else had to leave the battery disconnected for a good length of time in order to reset it? I'll chime in again tomorrow and post the results. Also, any ideas as to what else could be causing the car to go into limp mode? Sorry about the long post, thanks.

This morning I reconnected the battery and fired up the car. The problem was still there, no CEL and no codes stored in the ECU. I pulled the the trailing plug on rotor 1 just to see if there was compression. Sure enough the spark plug was fouled along with the leading on 1. Replaced them with some older ones (5k on them) I had at home and the car is running like a champ. I guess they fouled up when the car went into limp home mode. Sometimes the simpleist of things are overlooked.
