FD Bad Tach/Speedometer

I've searched the forums and read a few posts about people who have a bad tach/speedometer but couldnt's figure out what most people wind up doing for it. Do most people repair thier's or buy an other aftermarket one? I'm pretty good at soldering, is it as easy as replacing some caps and other components on the circuit board? If a replacement is the only option, which do most people wind up getting and is there a way to transfer over or program in the mileage? thanks, dan

Pretty simple and straightforward. Take the speedo out, take it apart, remove each single tach. For me my mileage was not showing up, removed that part out, looked on the board of what capacitors were burned out, went to radioshack and bought appropriate ones. Unsolder then solder, reassemble and test out.

Same here .. I just got one and gauge cluster doesn't work either . I'm confused about it as well . I was hoping to see a link to a good vendor and a quick write up of the install .

I sent mine last week to Coming Soon
They said it would be about $175 to fix. (Odometer, Speedometer, Tach)
