FD Alternator question

Ok, I got an FD alternator in the mail. The member I bought it from has been very helpful.

But, when I got it, the main terminal that has the screw in it, and connects to + on the battery, or at least on my FC it connects to the fuse box, it was bent. Is it supposed to be bent? Also, most of the plastic surrounding the terminal has been broken off.

Also, when I spin the pulley, I hear a clicking sound coming from inside the alternator. I am guessing that something inside is rubbing.

My question is, how rebuildable is it? Is it worth rebuilding or just go buy a new one with a lifetime warranty?

I am pretty sure that it was damaged in shipping, mostly because all the plastic pieces were in the box, and the box was very very well packed.

Any suggestions? Where can I buy a new unbent terminal? I looks like the terminal that is on there can be unbolted. What would cause the clicking inside? It doesn't feel like it is sticking much, if at all, just making a clicking sound.

Thanks guys!

It was probably damaged during transit. I had the same thing happen when I bought one from David Hayes. The terminal had taken a pretty hard hit which caused the case to crack and it wouldn't spin at all.
