Question FD Air Pump Connector

The previous owner of my FD removed the air pump. I'm going to reinstall an air pump but I can't seem to locate the wiring harness that connects to the air pump. I searched the forum but couldn't find any references and page F-122 of the FSMl doesn't specify where the wire is coming from.

Any help is appreciated. TIA.

I can't remember exactly where on the harness the AP wires came from, but IIRC, it was just a gray colored two pin connector if that helps.
Is it possible the PO deleted that along with the AP?

Should come from the top of the engine after the rat's nest et al, here's a broken one from a few years back (missing alignment pin)...couldn't find a replacement, locally at least.

Has anyone tried to wire the airpump without the harness? Could this be done by connecting it directly to the battery and/or an accessory that shuts off when the car is off?

The pump runs only a brief time and automatically disengages at (IIRC) ~ 3800 - 4200 rpm. Hard wiring it to a switched 12v source would probably wear it out quickly.
You might be able to determine which PIN is on the input side of the ECU plug from the FSM, and just run dedicated wire(s) to that....bypassing the harness.

The air pump is a switched ground unit that runs until 3800 or thereabouts and shuts off during cruise/what passes for closed loop in 5th gear. You'll most likely burn out a few cats before you kill your air pump.
