He is still on the forum I believe...may be on the "other" forum. Screen name is something like dudemanownsanrx7. Make sure you pay the extra $5 or whatever for the plug and play attachment. Well worth it!

Wannaspeed spells the IAT and pigtail adapter that makes it plug and play.

Mine so far is running great in the stock location, didn't even relocate it to the elbow.

What is the best way to contact him when im ready to purchase

AND

Why are some people relocating them to the elbow anyways? Better reading/response?

Even with the FRIAT you could still argue that the stock position is prone to heat soaking more than the elbow. That is the logic behind it per my understanding.

Pretty sure I remember reading about dudemaan running it in the stock location and not having heat soak. I decided to run mine in the same (stock) location and haven't noticed any problems, but then again my UIM and a lot of other stuff is ceramic coated so that might have a lot to do with it.

this is his site: http://wannaspeed.com/index.php?main...roducts_id=180

says it's sold out though. It's an IAT sensor off some Triumph motorcycle and it uses a regular Bosch EV1 electrical connector.

+1, im going to be running mine in the stock location... i spoke to my mechanic about it and makes perfect sense... Even "if" it heat soaks, that means the UIM is head soaking as well. moving the sensor will give you a "cooler'' reading, and we both agreed we prefer to know what the high temp is and what the temp is right before it goes into the engine hope that makes sense...

I got a +1 from Bubble. Does that mean I have to change my name to a pink hue now?

Correct me if I'm wrong, if the sensor is heat soaked, wouldn't it measure hotter intake temp than it should? And if the temperature is actually cooler than what the sensor reported, wouldn't it cause the car to run lean?

Some people move it because if you are injecting water upstream of the stock location your ait's will drop and the correction map will alter fueling. If you put the sensor before the AI nozzle then your tune is unaffected and you are utilizing water solely for knock suppression and combustion chamber cooling.

Yes and no. it depends how youre looking at it.

Im assuming the heat soak that is heat soaking the sensor is heat soaking the UIM therefore heat soaking both...

It would cause inaccurate readings if it was heat soaking just the sensor but im assuming its not...

^^ that too. most AI is sprayed as close to the TB so there isnt much room to fit a sensor in front of the AI nozzle either..

Is there any reason to run the fast reacting IAT sensor on a stock car. Mind is basically stock other than RB duals, HKS dp, K&N drop in, and an AEM water injection kit.

i think the better question would be; what should the criteria be to run one of these units?

What I have found is when the UIM and sensor becomes hot due to engine radiation and conduction especially idling at a stoplight in Florida (in my case) the fuel map skews to the temperature of the UIM and sensor rather than air temperature. It is also very noticable in the car's idle and tip-in conditions. I have validated this on my Datalogit / laptop.

I would think the criteria for having one would center around aftermarket ECU and specific tuning parameters.
