Fab / Cut / Install Sunroof?

If one aquired a glass sunroof and all the mechanisms, could it be installed (with relative financial ease) into a base or R1/2 model?

Thanks

Agreed. It can be done but I don't think it's a good idea. You're just adding a possible leak and more weight/parts that can go bad.

i wouldnt do this . R1's are somuch harder to find then tourings I would love ot trade my touring for an R1 .

Also they are heavier , and if you plan to race with the car atleast for me I hit the sunroof border with my head , you get less headroom in the touring .

Yes. You'd also need the head-liner from a sunroof model.

No. It would be a major undertaking even for a professional shop. Unless you're experienced with the right equipment/tools it's not something done by typical for the DIY'er.

I have seen it done on other cars before, but I wouldn't do it personally...

I'm in on the "don't do it".

To do this properly, it would need done well. Otherwise, it could be a huge headache for years to come. Even the OEMs leak over time.

I enjoy no sunroof. More sleek

How would accommodate the bubbles in the roof?

Also you would have to go so careful when cutting the roof that you didn't warp the metal.

Im in the leave well alone category, either that or take the entire roof off and go soft top.

Just give me the sunroof since my glass got blown out... And save yourself the hassle.
