Exterior Door Handle Problem

So, it is becoming more and more difficult to open my driver side door handle. I have to use a little more effort every time I use it. The plastic one already broke and I've installed the Rotory13B aluminum ones, but I still seem to have to really yank on it to get the door to open. I've also noticed the the handle seems to sit a little recessed. It doesn't line up the housing.

Theres a rubber bumper/stop which the handle rests on when closed. Over time this rubber becomes compressed and allows the handle to close "too far" which causes binding in the linkage. I dont know if the rubber is available seperate from the handle assembly, most people just buy a new assembly which fixes all the wear issues.

I split a piece of vacuum line and put it over the "ridge" part of the handle which normally rests against the stop.

Did you try disassembling the handle and lubricating it? Spray some silicone spray on the moving parts.
