Experience with Amsoil

I'm think of making the jump from Mobil 1 15w-50 to Amsoil 2000 20w-50 in the FD , does anyone on this board use it?

I've had great luck with Amsoil 2000 in my two stroke waverunner engine and my YZF-R1

I use it in one of the family's FD's. The other one leaks too much. I use 20/50 Racing Amsoil. In the one that leaks I use Valvoline 20/50 racing. Also have Amsoil gear oil in tranny and diff. Amsoil just kills Mobil 1 in lab tests. Mobil 1 is a great product, Amsoil is just better. IMHO.

Amsoil in 2-strokes is the only way to go. I can tell you some great stories. Basically eliminates most maintanience.

Let me know if you notice any improvement when you make the switch. My guess is you won't. Mobil 1 is a great oil, and when you change it every 1000-2000 miles I'm not sure you gain much.

would be interesting to see some actual oil analyses for these cars

I consider a stock twin turbo FD the ultimate test of oil's performance, at least for a street car.....nothing else runs as hot ALL THE TIME, especially on the boost
