exhausts: Apexi GT vs Apexi N1 on lightly modded FD
Hi everybody,
I was wondering if it would be worth it to swap out my Apexi N1 exhaust for an Apexi GT exhaust. Right now my car has HKS 'shroom type filters and Apexi N1. I was wondering if there would be any increase if I swap it out.
Also for the Apexi N1 and GT, what size does the exhaust taper to where it connects to the stock cat?
TIA

I will also be installing a cheapo autometer boost guage and the first mod I will be buying will be a PFC.

u bought the car w/o knowing if it has a dp? is it the n1 dual? i like the way they look. i doubt you'll notice any power difference with different catbacks.

even with the slightly larger diameter, you should not notice any difference.... you need a good 3% before the butt dyno kicks in. Since resale of an exhaust is rarely worth the trouble, just keep what you have. Thje cat-side opening is roughly 3 3/4 inches for the gt-spec, way larger than the stock cat
BTW, you don't need a hobby (what is that?) shop to tell you if you have an aftermarket downpipe; just get under the car.
Are you sure you want to dump $950-1250 into a pfc knowing nothing about your new car? I'd go with a tune-up/maintenance from a rotary shop and get new plugs, fluids, etc (~$3-450)

BTW I only said I didn't know exactly what parts are on the car, I didn't say I knew nothing about the car (rotaries in general). I may not know everything about rotaries, but I know a lil more then your average newbie.
Right now the only intake/exhaust mods I am positive about are the intake filters and exhaust. I'm pretty sure everything else is stock, but I wanna be sure. My next upgrade would be the PFC, after that reliability mods and major maintenance stuff (might even do that before the PFC), then a Greddy 2 row, DP, MP, injectors, etc etc etc.

Sorry, but I got to agree with the others that buying an FD without knowing what's been done to it is risky at best.
BTW, I don't know what people here have done to their cars but it's pretty damn easy to see the downpipe from above on MY car.....just look down the firewall behind the turbos. You'll either have a clunky looking thick metal pipe or a smooth pipe.....
