Exhaust: What Do You Guys Think?

I am gonna start attempting to make a cheap anti rice exhaust setup for my 7....

First im gonna do a 3in dp with a 3in mp with a 40 seriers flowmaster dumped...but leave the stock pipes sticking out of the back(giving it the sleeper look because my tips are all rusted out). Does anyone have clips of what this would sound like? Any ideas? Any other suggestions that might sound good dumped under the car? I really dont like the whole ricer sound from all the local imports...just wanting to try something different...Let me know what you guys think..Thanks guys..

No bueno. Its gonna be loud as *****. Boost creep out the butt. If it backfires its gonna sound like a shot gun. I made one kid jump 4 feet in the air dumpin an rx7store midpipe on the way to the muffler shop. Go ahead and get a racing beat rear section. Its sleeper and sounds good.

I'm gonna go ahead and assume that the flowmaster is comparable in design with the magnaflow.

I currently have a magnaflow muffler in my car which I installed about a month ago. I hate it. The drowning at 80 MPH drives me batty.

When I first hooked it up I had a straight midpipe. The car was loud as ****! It sounded mean as hell but it was so loud that my ears would ring after a short ride. That lasted a whole week till I installed a resonated MP. Which that really cut down on the loudness but I still can't stand it. A RB dual is currently in the mail, my ears are really going to appreciate it.

Cheap and "Anti-rice" are generally non-synonymous words, no? IMO I'm not saying that it doesn't exist, i've seen it happen. But usually they are few and far between, especially when it comes to a major vehicle component such as an exhaust. But hey, if you can pull it off, let us all know!

I agree with Barban, there is a strong forum census for the Racing Beat Muffler, great balance of quality, decibels, tone and performance.

Why would a RB stop backfires more than the stock catback?

And why would it reduce boost creep?

He didn't say that the RB would stop the car from backfires more than the stock catback. He just said that with the flowmaster it would be loud as hell if it backfires. Since the RB is a relatively quiet exhaust the backfiring won't be so loud.

The only way to reduce boost creep (other than to port the wastegate) is to add restriction on the exhaust side. Honestly I do not if the flowmaster is less restrictive than the RB. Most people gauge how restrictive an exhaust is by the loudness, which in fact is not really accurate since loudness is also a function of the muffler design.
