Exhaust smell in car after Hi flow cat added

I have just had a Bonez Hi flow cat added, and have noticed a smell of exhaust fumes inside the card even after a short drive. Has anybody else had this problem? Could it just be my gasket that is leaking?

My exhaust got stinkier and more of a fuel smell after installing the Bonez cat. Maybe you just smell it more now?

The only time I have any fumes is right at startup. After the cat gets warmed up, mine is fine. You do have the air pump hooked up right?

I had the pipe fitted by Rotary Performance in Dallas. They have always done excellent work in the past, so I would assume they fitted the pump correctly. I just hope it is a bad gasket. The boot around my shifter is badly worn ( torn ) and I think if the gasket is leaking, then the fumes are getting in via the torn boot. I will be taking it to RP for exhaust leak checks. If it is simply that the Bonez is more smelly, then I will be selling it.

Yep, I would let RP check it out. Once the cat is warmed up, you shouldn't have any fumes.

What I don't understand is how the fumes get inside the car. You would think that if there were no leakes,
that the fumes would exit via the tail pipe and be left behind

Did you hook up the AIRPUMP? Some manufacturers say that you can run their Hi-flow cat w/o the airpump, but your car will stink and may not idle properly.
