np Tom! I should thank you for the outstanding avatar you have. Makes this thread look good! lol
Either Borla p/n should workout fine...I honestly don't know specifically why the $60 dollar difference so maybe somebody can call Borla and ask them the difference (maybe one has better flow characteristics?).
I spent the rest of the afternoon using up the tank of gas. I need to refuel tomorrow and do some more driving. I don't think I have touched the radio since the borla muffler was installed!
I'm glad people like the sound of my exhaust setup. Up until now, I personally haven't came across an rx7 that had a pleasing exhaust note (to me anyways). I am very happy with my setup and don't plan on installing my midpipe in the forseeable future....maybe I should sell it!
I do like how 3-rotor and 4 rotor cars sound though.
I was kinda hoping that people would post sound/video clips of their cars so in the future, we have a database of different exhaust setups (for future owners and newbs!)
Have a good wknd everybody,
anthony

I think creating a database of different exhaust notes (or sounds) is a great idea. I will definitely post a clip ASA I get my car back. It's been at some shop for a while; I'm waiting to have this guy make new pipes going from my cool air box to the turbo, from the turbo to the intercooler and to weld the Apex BOV to the side of the intercooler. (I just installed a single turbo kit so things changed a bit) Since those pipes "are on display", there has to be nice looking welds or else I would just do it myself.
Anyhow, I'm gonna start a new thread "post your exhaust sounds" and we'll see if people do it.
Anthony: thanks for the compliments on my avatar. Due to popular request, I have made her pic "clickable"
Take it easy guys,
Tom

silver0ckt: Yeah, I was looking at the Borla muffler on Summit that was $180...the Dynomax and Magnaflow ones are $60. Guess we were looking at a different muffler.
Mazdabation: I know, I know...it does sound like ***. But your name is still Mazdabation I actually think the ATR catback has potential though. I'm going to try out the XR1 in the midpipe with the ATR, and if I still don't like it I'll switch to the RB dual tip.

cool clips nocab!! what boost did you run for that run? tell whoever that guy was to turn his music down...heh.
i should have bolted the greddy exhaust back onto my car with the borla muffler just to see how it would sound, but I was too tired and lazy swapping things around....besides, the greddy exhaust is on its way to its future owner. i hope it finds happiness in its new home.
hey gotboostd7, your car sounds like a weedwacker on steroids. heh j/k
tom, nice car setup...i just checked out your homepage and the pics are sweet.

Holy.....sokudo's car sounds deadly! So deadly I made it my sound for when I fire up the computer! HEHE I think my HKS hi power exhaust doesn't sound too bad. Compared to the others. It's big but isn't too bad. i still have my cat though.

you do have to be careful about opening up a can of worms. When you remove the cat, the reduction in back pressure results in a 1-2 lb increase in intake boost pressure. Most recommend that you have an aftermarket computer BEFORE changing the front half of the exhaust so that you can adjust/tune the engine properly. Otherwise, there is the potential for a blown motor. I am speaking from research and reading though, not from my own experience. I personally did everything all at once (being that it was a project car) so I never got to see the difference in various stages of upgrades.
