Exhaust Control Valve

I currently have a 3.75in catback. I didn't want it that way but the previous owner put it on. I have been thinking about changing the catback, but at the same time I kind of want to keep it. Well, I have looked into getting an exhaust control valve in order to help keep the car kind of quiet, because I'm afraid of getting pulled over

Would having an ECV hurt the engine or turbo at all? I was thinking that since it restricts airflow and probably causes a lot of back pressure.

I hope I'm using the right words. I'm not in the top shape right now.

I appreciate the help!!!!

one more wiring clusterfuck to break

if you care about noise, get an exhaust system that was designed to be more quiet than what you have right now
