Question Exedy Hyper Twin VS. OS Giken STR Vs. ORC Metal twin?

Hello everyone,

im currently trying to decide on a clutch. i plan on throwing some major HP through this thing in the future. however as for no its mostly stock. 1992 FD

So i am looking for some opinions on these clutches. keep in mind i am in japan so these are the three i have pretty easy access to. im interested in hearing about pedal effort (My wife might drive from time to time) as compared to stock, engagement height, Noise and engagement quality. and just general all round opinions on them. thank you in advance!!!!!

David

Also anyone know a good source for this counterweight?? not 200 dollar ones....

I have heard nothing but great things about the Exedy Hyper Twin. Supposedly near stock pedal feel and able to hold a little over 500WTQ.

I have the exedy twin disk. It is perfect for me:

smooth engagement for street / daily driving.

not too noisy... i have heard worse. if you are parked, in neatral and push the clutch in, it does chatter a bit.

easy pedal, just slightly more than stock pedal pressure.

They are expensive, but they are worth it to me.

after much use of google translate (dont read or write japanese, but speak it fine) i received my clutch yesterday complete with the proper counterweight, even came in the original box!!!! disks have a LOT of meat left on them maybe 3-3.4MM tiny bit of heat marks on the plates and diaphragm looks good. one thing though am i correct in thinking this clutch comes as a pull type. no need for converter right?

Carbonetics? I've got a carbon twin plate from them and it's quite nice but was not cheap. Pull to push conversion
