After 10 000km the clutch is still as new, its an amazing piece of engineering. I love the floating hub design combined with sprung drive hub, it makes it a true street clutch

^ My gearbox is good as it was when I put the clutch in, any other times i have stuffed around with pure racing clutches the gearbox suffers as too much shock load and constant vibrations are transfered back into the box. They are never the same after running with a Tilton but this Exeddy she is as sweet as !

I love it, best performance part I have ever bought.....

Yes twin plate Carbon D-Core with floating sprung drive hub. *as pictured in my thread*

I picked it to cover me for any BHP level I was going to get with OEM style twin turbo's.... cost a bit more but well worth it, still cant get over how damn good carbon clutches are every other inferior type should be banned :P

I'm looking at the D-Core and the ATS carbon twinplate (also a full faced carbon clutch). The D-Core is about 3500 correct? What made you guys choose that over the ATS for ~1850? Looks nice!

IN my thread there is a site listed

www.nengun.com

their price is $2500Aus or there abouts ($2k USD?)

I went with it cause its got a floating single spline hub, I dont know the construction of the ATS? single spline hubs v's individual splined multi plate designs are much stronger and dont stress the input shaft as much also its a sprung centre, again dont know what the ATS is.

The Exeddy is rated to 12000rpm and for 750bhp 2 rotor engine, they have R&D budget that would dwarf all other companies combined ....... it was an easy choice for me. Working as a fitter & machinist, the level of manufacture in this product is top shelf, despite the cheap price for what your getting (advanced technology and design).

Thanks for the link. The main downside I see to the ATS is that it is not available with a sprung hub. However, according to the their US office, the carbon disks do not grab as abruptly as other materials so it is less of a concern. It is very light, some 7-8lbs less than the standard sprung Exedy Twinplate. If the price difference is that small I will have to give it some more thought.

"ATS presents its carbon clutch produced by a joint development with ACROSS Corporation. ACROSS Corporation is a leading carbon manufacture with the most advanced CC composite technology in the world. The super light and heat resistant characteristics of CC composite gives a driver truly exceptional strength, response, and durability. Its operation is very smooth and easy on the transmission."

From my experience (15yrs) in rotaries I can tell you this much, on OEM Mazda gearboxes non sprung centre drives ruin an otherwise perfect gearbox within 5000km, they develop all kinds of funny rattles and vibrations as a result of the direct non dampened connection to the engine.

This Exeddy unit after 10000km the gearbox is still 100% whisper quiet as the day I put it in.

Your right in the drivability side, depending on materials and pressure plate specs they should be similar in engagment function.

Choose the Exedy based on reconmendations from my engine builder, didnt want to burn through lesser quality clutchs, especially with a single turbo 20B.

Hope the Exedy can handle the power, aiming for 600-700rwhp.
