Yesterday i was cleaning the engine bay of my 93 mb fd and I found this alluminum piece in the hose that goes from the stock intake to the EGR. I asked my boy if he ever found one of these in his 7 and he said he had never seen it befor...so im asking you guys what is this and why is it in my car...or is it even supposed to be in my car? Looks exactly like one of the pieces that came with my Apexi intake kit a few years back.

 

yeah, it looks like the "silencer" that fits in the tube from the air pump to the intake body from the Apex'i Power Intake

Agreed. Does your car have an aftermarket intake? If not, you know the previous owner had one on there .

Thanks guys... The car was a theft recovery .The guy bought it back from the insurance and sold it to me ,He told me they stole the stock air box and the car was stock but i bet it wasnt stock at all ... Thanks for all the help and info guys it realy helps when im rebuilding the 7 into my dream car..

 

I'll buy that off you if you dont need it. I have the APEX'i intercooler kit but dont have the silencer. Let me know.
