Error Codes WILL NOT GO AWAY. (Removed Air Pump & 30, 33, 39 error codes appear)!!!!

Error codes received:

30 - Split Air Bypass Solenoid open or short circuit
33 - Port Air Bypass Solenoid open or short circuit
39 - Relief 2 Solenoid open or short circuit.

A friend removed the air pump because we installed the TKT power pulley kit from Pettit and I'm wondering if these error codes have anything to do with it or are they an entirely different issue.

Since all of these solenoids go into the Air Control Valve I'm not sure if just removing the Air Pump would generate them. These are the only solenoids that even go into the Air Control Valve. I didn't do the work myself.... could it be possible that the Air Control Valve was removed along with the Air Pump???

Inquiring minds want to know. USA all the way!

I highly doubt those codes are related to the removal of the air pump itself - you can unplug its electrical connector and no codes will be generated.

thanks for the reply. I talked with my mechanic and he removed the air control valve all together. No wonder those 3 solenoids were generating error codes. The computer can't find them.

He's removed it in several '93s and they don't generat the error codes. What's the deal with my '94. I guess that's just the way love goes. We had the put the EGR valve back in place to get rid of that error code too.

Anyone see a problem with running without the Air Control Valve?
