engine won't turn over

Ok, so a couple of weeks ago I was having an idle issue. I took apart the clutch switch and found the spring was broken. I did the pen spring replacement, and it has been running perfect since then. This morning I go to crank it up and it won't turn over. The battery is fine, and the engine is cranking, but just won't turn over. It feels like it is flooded or something. Please help me troubleshoot this problem. Thanks guys!

If you think it might be flooded, try this:

There always has to be a first time , with that logic your motor should run forever! .

mechanically speaking, what could have caused this, and could it happen frequently?

Do one thing at a time. Figure out if it is or isn't flooded and go from there. You can't troubleshoot everything at one time. You first have to eliminate what is NOT the problem to help narrow down what may be the problem.
