Artguy: Was that $3800-$4800 you were quoted just for the motor (w/core charge) or the motor and replacement. Mazda dealers up in the bay area are asking more in the $2300-$2500 range for the motor (w/o core charge).

BTW, I retract my statement about the 3mm seals not withstanding detonation that much better. But then again, you've got the ceramics and not "standard" 3mm seals. Hopefully, most people won't have the tuning nightmares you did.

No tunes by mail. Ever. I have learned from your example.

BTW, you're dynoing the new twins pretty soon right. How do they feel now that you've got them tuned fairly well?

Good luck on your rebuild.
What are you guys talking about? My reman is running great after 6 years and I get water injection for free!

You should have the motor you blew taken apart and see what you can salvage. Remember you blow a seal you could...

Scratch a housing
Scratch a rotor
Screw up your turbos....

Sorry to be the bringer of bad news but there may be worse things done to your motor.

your car will wake up with a streetport. but you will need more fuel to really feel the difference. its a must...you wanna beat those supras or lose to em...simple as that.

yeah...Ill dyno the twins soon...am waiting on some parts...as soon as everything is in Im tuning for high boost and hitting the dyno.

Hehe, I'm usually in that mood at about 7:32 am Monday morning, when I realize I have to work another 9 hrs and 28 minutes......

Good luck with the final parts, tuning, and dyno run, I'm curious as to how it will turn out.

or just wait and get a reniesis engine lol, hopefully that will be a option for us in the future just dreaming though, not to get way off topic but I wonder how that engine will fit in the FD, and whats the difference with the cosmos 13b compared with the 13REW

well the first difference would be that the renesis has huge ports...less backpressure and no low end at all....no thanks in that department. thats why they have the rev limiter set so high...cuz it doesnt do jack down low.

Ill keep my low end.

a streetport is as big of a port as I would want for city driving.

I've never heard of problems running 7s in the cold. What's the deal?

cold air is denser (more compressed) than hot air. which means more than normal amount of air into the intake, which can cause detonation.
