Engine removal/install with tranny and downpipe installed
This will be my 4th rebuild since I bought my FD in 93. The 3 prior times I've always removed the downpipe and dropped the tranny first before removing the engine, then dropped in the rebuild and reattached the tranny and downpipe.
My question is has anyone removed and installed the engine tranny and downpipe when all bolted together? What was your experience and the things to consider? This time around I would rather remove and install the 3 pieces as an assembly but would like to know what are the tricks and got-cha's.
Thanks

I would suggest have a peice called a leveler. It will help you change the angle of the engine as you are bringing it out. Other then that just bring it out.

I've done both - once without the tranny, and all the many times after that with tranny and D/P - much easier with tranny and D/P. and like mentioned, use a leveler.
