Engine Number! Please Help! I cant get Insurance!

Sent my car in for inspection and it seems that they cannot find the engine number. This coming from an authorised vehicle inspector WTF. Anyways the want me to fork out USD150 as a bribe to pass my inspection. I dont mind paying but the things is i have retained the same engine number and if this **** h0l3 of an inspector just do his job and check under the alternator he will find no fault.

I was wondering if there is anywhere else i can look for my engine number ?

TIA

Dave

Will not let you know the HELL I had to pass to insure mine here in Malta. Just to say the no insurance will insure an RX-7 here if you are not a millioner but I managed it even if I am not.

Anyway turning to your problem. I think I can help but you will surely need a mechanic. See I had to report a change of engine for my car so I had to have an inspector to check the engine number which is located just under the alternator. So to have just a glimps with a tourch and a mirror you will have to lift the alternator a bit.

If you want to be sure I should meet my specilist today so I can be sure of what he did.

Malta is quite fine at the moment. Sunshine all around lots of swiming etc etc.

When having such a car I personally prefer to have everything as the law requests. If somthing might happen people tend to immediately look at you as a speed maniac and trouble maker so police will start to look bad at even the smallest things.

I spent at least 1hour and a half through all the process but now I am sure on the safe side with the law. It did not cost me anything though the inspection was free and the specilist my close friend.
