car is at the shop, it's not staying here so i'm really not in a position to drain the oil. Besides, i'd need another 8quarts to fill it back up and drive it home.

btw this is dhahlen

just did a peak comp test

~90psi on rear
~75psi on front

No need to live in fear. look into either an aquamist or cooling mist setup to give yourself a safety net. Can definitely save you from detonating.

It wasn't detonation.

It was pushing near 500hp on a motor that shouldn't have seen more than 400hp. It was rebuilt using my old crapass housings... so it wasn't made to push this much. Regardless, I'm going to throw in the cryo treated, largely ported, all new part motor with mazda seals. *sigh*

the debt it brings =/

Yeah, I know, I was just responding to RX7JCHIII.

In my experience, given an engine builder who knows what the hell he is doing, detonation kills about 95% of 13B-REWs, with overheating/coolant seal failure taking the other 5%.

U know, i had a similar problem a while ago and my rebuilt only had 10K on it. One day, after a small bump my fd started shaking violently at all speeds, burning oil, and leaking oil. What happend was the Ecsentric shaft (sp?) bolt came loose! Whoever rebuilt didn't tighten it to the specific torque ( 180 ftlb). When it came out, the thermal pellet, spring, and o-ring were lost in the process! Since the thermal pellet regulates oil, it came spewing out all over my engine landing on hot surfaces, making it smoke. Now, the e-shaft bolt holds in this metal bar that's like a placement key, and that key puts the front counterweight inline with ur rotors and some other ring in between. Since i lost this key my front counterweight was out of sinc with (im guessing) the flywheel counterweight. When my counterweight was out of sinc, it shook the car so much it was unbearable. N e way, thats my story but it sounds like u could have the same problem.

If it [I]is the same problem, PM and i'll tell u how i saved my baby.

my car shakes upon revving it and while in 3rd and 5th gears the shifter snaps forward and back slightly according to acceleration...and when the hood is popped and the engine is revveed it moves noticabley...is there anyway this could be bearing related or does it sound like bad mounts?

I'd guess motor mounts.

I think that's the problem too.

Check for it

If your eccentric bolt comes loose, you need to go find your engine builder and punch him in the teeth.

My 83 stock block 12A engine making only about 150hp with a Weber sidedraft,
complete open exhaust system, shimed oil pressure regulator, and running AMSOIL, lost a bearing. Oil pressure would be normal until the engine was loaded then it would drop a lot. When I drained the oil, there was pieces of bearing in it.

It should not have failed with that little bit of power but it did.

Check your PPF. When it cracks your shifter will move around alot upon throttle changes and if its bad you will probably hear a loud bang from the rear when you launch or shift hard.
