Unhappy Engine just stopped starting? Any Suggestions? Read details - got lots of them -

Alright, got in a slight accident awhile back. Here is the list of damages so you can get an idea of where it hit.

-Passenger Side Fender front bent back (just the tip of the fender)
-Drivers Side Lower Suspension Arm Bent (Threw chamber off by 45 degrees)
-Rear bumper passenger side scuffed up
-Exhaust Tip scuffed up
-Passenger Side headlight busted up
-Metal frame behind passenger headlight slightly smashed

It looks like my engine slid back just a slight bit after the accident. I think this was because the front bumper hit the intercooler and it pushed the piping downard. Now, the O-Ring between the throttle body and the elbow popped out between the two pieces.

The car seemed to work fine after the accident, it was a little hesitant to start, but when it started up it would drive just fine (aside from not driving straight due to the a-arm, and a slight boost leak because of the O-Ring)

So I was driving the car back from an auto shop after they looked at the alignment and checked for frame damage... and all the sudden it stopped running. It was then very hard to start back up. Now, I have YET to do a compression test on the engine, but I wonder if there has been any similar issues that I could check. I'll list my mods that would effect the engine running so you all have an idea of what is going on.

I can get the car to start but I have to hold down the throttle and keep the RPMS above 1100 manually. The car will not idle. When I rev the engine is sounds very rough, like it's not getting spark or some crap. My knock sensor is reading a bit high 80-100 on the power FC, but that may be due to it being loose.

Any ideas why the engine may not start? It could be blown, but I am not getting any smoke from the engine, I didn't get any after the accident, and it's not leaking any fluid.

Here are a few questions I have yet to answer:

1.) Why is my passenger side window no longer working?
2.) Why won't the engine stay running?
3.) Why does it run rough if I force it to stay started?

Here are some mods that might help:

Jacobs Ignition
MSD 2 Leading Coils
Apexi GT Intercooler
TD08 Single Turbo
850/1600CC Injectors
SSX FPR
Koyo Radiator
Supra TT Fuel Pump
ACT 6 Puck Clutch and Racing Beat LIght FLywheel

Now, the car ran beautifully before the accident - I had a MAP loaded on the PFC for the setup I was running.

I also tried the de-flooding procedures with no luck.

I'll compression test it sometime next week to solve that problem. But like I said, it just died all of the sudden... when I was driving it normally.. not rough. I know a vac leak would cause boost problems, but there would have a be a large enough leak after the manifolds to start it from not running.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to do some blind troubleshooting here since the Car is in AZ and I am in SoCal. I have a friend that can go look at it and check it out until I can make it out there.

Thanks
-Darren-

Do you think any of the wiring that runs in the passenger side fender may have been moved to a point where the wheel might be causing some damage to it when driven ????? or even to where some of the bent metal parts are chaffing the wires. With that kind of damage there's all kinds of reasons it could be acting that way. Yo uwould have to put quite a bit of force on the TB elbow to distort it enough to pop the o-ring out. I'd start surveying the damage before I ran it or drove it any more.

certainly the wiring harness may have been severed or come detached from the force of the hit. however, your engine problem sounds alot more like a coolant seal problem than anything else. those were the characteristics my car exhibited when my coolant seal failed.

has the battery been disconnected since the accident? I've heard stories of PFC's "resetting" themselves

Yeah I can check the map on the PFC again, could be using the base map. If that is the case it would explain it not running correctly.

Coolant seal, where are these located? I hear they fail when an engine blows...

THe wiring could be damanged from the fender, but it was only the front portion that took a hit. I don't think the wiring harness took any damage during the accident, although I could be wrong. It would probably be much easier if I was in front of it.

Had a friend check out the wires, looks like a few of them got a bit torn up. Might be the window control and something that has to do with the PFC. Getting a comp test done tomorrow, let you all know how it turns out.
