engine idle and coils question

when i rev my engine up it hangs on revs, it will stick at like 3k and i have to get out and push the throttle back down. It looks like the little valve on the front of the throttle body with the little white plunger is sticking open or being forsed open. it looks like it can be adjusted possibly. I think that valve is supposed to let the engine more slowly return instead of slamming shut is what i read a long time ago. IS that correct? What is that thing called and can it be completely removed? How does it work?

Also my coils tested a little out of spec. Would it be better to get new stock coils, or could i just get a ignition amplifier and run the same coils? what are my options?

If the coils are not within spec; don't mask the problem, replace them.

with mazda coils? or is there a different route with msd coils or somthing? at this point i'm looking for the most cost effective fix, this engien rebuild has been draining my cash quickly. The car runs with the stock out of spec coils, but somtimes it seems like the plus foul more easily, that could be more due to the car needing tuned. thanks for the imput and links

Mazda coils would be the quickest and easiest. There are some for sale now in the classifieds section:
