Engine harness + non seq...
Anyone take apart their harness to eliminate unwanted wires and connectors after going non seq and after blocking off the ACV etc...etc...
I ran into a dilemma where my stock harness was really bad... broken connectors and brittle wires. About a year and a half ago, I bought a used harness w/ low miles from someone on the forum... but only to install it a year and a half later. I relized that some connectors where missing, I found only one for the ACV for example instead of 3.
Since I have the old and new harness, I was thinking of hacking it up and redoing one harness to make a good one and wrap it with high temp insulation.
What I'm not sure is if I should remove the wires/connectors for the ACV, solenoids, etc...etc... I have one harness taken apart but i'm unsure if I should just snip and completely remove the wires.. I found one wire on the solenoid connecter to lead to another connector which will not be removed...
any suggestions?

My mechanic has just finished doing his. He is putting in BNR stage 3 turbos and he removed all unused wires and changed several connectors to GM style weather packs. Changed all hard and weak wires on the stock connectors, they do come apart. He also moved the trailing coils to the fender wall where the leading coil ( Harley Davidson ) has been for 5 years. Also the alternater wires were changed to welding cable.

IF you unwrap the harnes you can cut the leads that connect and leave the needed ones. Garfinkles wiring under the uim is so neat you would be supprised. it is laid on an alum part that is bolted on, and the wiring harness is tie wraped to it.Wires that are not used were cut near the ECU .
