Engine flush okay for rotary engines?
Does anyone know if it is safe to run engine flush in the engine immediately prior to an oil change? I was concerned since I have heard that the rotary engine burns oil.

I don't think it would be an issue.
The engine flush is only included for a short period of time. If it is not cleanly combustible, no big deal. I assume you are talking like a bottle of Wynns, being added to the oil, and run for like 10 minutes or so. That .10 portion of Wynns in the oil, and it lack of combustability is trivial, given some of the older non-cleanly combusting oils that people have or do use.
If it is combustable, I still don't think it is a problem either. The portion added makes the issue trivial.
On the other hand, I could be full of ****, and we'll see what others say...

Since FD's have a need to change they're oil more often than other cars I don't see a reason to use any kind additives that may or may not do any damage to the rotary or the turbo.
I'd say just change the oil often, don't let it get very black and your set.

if you do flush, run next oil batch briefly and lightly footed,, and then drain and fill again. this will purge residual solvent that was trapped in oil coolers, etc ... esp R1/R2 and/or with 10w30 oil.

If I was buying a used FD, and unsure about its maintenance, I'd do a flush. Otherwise, I change every 1500 miles or so, so I don't need to worry about buildup as much.
