Engine Fire - need engine fire experts

Okies - so my toy caught fire and is in the shop. Here is my story - need some advice from the experts here.

Driving to work and pulling in to the parking structure, a massive amount of smoke started puffing through the seems in the hood (like cheech & chong x 100). I immediately pulled over and turned off the engine. Grabbing my fire extinguisher (best $10 I ever spent), I put out a small fire on the passenger / intake side of the engine. During this time, I heard the engine boiling and coolant began dumping out by the bucketload.

Other than me being a little embarrassed as my coworkers gawked at my smoking hood, no one was hurt. (yay for this)

So the car is in the shop and awaiting a claims adjuster to head out - so here are my questions:

From a search and general understanding of this car, I am trying to put together a list of parts that may have been damaged. (assume it was a smaller fire, there was little to no exterior paint damage although the car was covered in the fire extinguisher stuff).

Hoses / belts (all)
Wiring harness
Injectors
Fuel solenoids
FPD (damn you if it was you!!!! - you were just changed 20k ago!!!!)
Turbo housings? (not sure if these warp easily)
O2 sensor
Engine block damage (this one scares me, not sure if the housings or apex seals ma have been warped)
Vaccuum lines

Fwiw, the car would not start.

Please add to this list as possible - I just don't want the adjusters to miss potential items that may need attention.

Thanks,

M

It's impossible to tell what you need until you get to work. The fact that you caught it so quickly means you'll probably have little damage.

I doubt any "hard" parts - turbos, manifolds, etc. - were harmed. Your problem will moreso be coolant lines, fuel lines, vacuum lines, wiring, etc.

I wouldn't start ordering any parts until you can get the upper intake manifold off and get to work. Get in there and remove all the burnt stuff, clean everything up (fire extinguishers make a mess!) and you'll soon have a To Order list.
