Engine cranks and cranks eventually start
Hello members,
I have a 93 auto FD and recently I had a cranking problem. I replaced the leading coil after it went dead and installed a Turbo 2 with a MSD 6A. Note this cranking problem was prior to my leading coil failure.
Here `s what happens, You drive the car hard and then park, turbo time down the engine, 3 min. When you try to start the car 5 min later it just cranks, cranks and cranks. I check for spark and there `s none. As the engine cools off for about 20 min or so, you crank and it starts with no problem. This is an indication of a breaking down coil, so I replaced with another coil and the problem still persist.
Any suggestions,
Andre

Hot-start problems can be attributed to low compression, leaking injectors, fouled plugs, ... just other things to think about. Have you ever checked the compression?
