Engine almost caugt fire, rx7.com fuel rail problem.

I bring my car into the garage as I came home from work sick. Just like any other day when I come back home I pop the hood and unscrew the oil cap because RX7's have shitty crankcase ventalation. I noticed through my stuffy nose that I could smell raw fuel, I took a peek through my mess of fuel lines and discoverd that a pool of fuel had built up on top of one of the rotor housings. The lines seemed ok so I took a hard look at my aftermarket secondary fuel rail. I twisted the rear injector and everything was ok, I twisted the front injector and high presure fuel sprayed everywhere from the mating area of the rail that connects to the top of the injector.

I sat nearby for about 20 mins with a fire extinguisher just to make sure she didn't burst into flames. I'm too sick to investigate any further, but this is a real bummer, It seems to either be a failed o ring, or a design flaw with rx7.com's fuel rail. I made sure to grease the o-rings up before installation too. I will look into this when I'm feeling better.

you should also check that the rail is still bolted down securely.

i took everything apart, fuel rail was still tight, o-rings look perfectly fine. What could be going on? Nothing appears to be damaged.

sometimes when the injector is not perfectly perpendicular to the fuel rail will cause a leak. make sure you grease up the o rings and rails before installation, and replace them too
