End of an era, where to now.

Morning guys,

Having owned, lost and re owned two RX-7's over the past ten years. Alongside amassing a whole load of parts. I think it's definitely come to an end of an era for me. However, I'm not too sure how to go about selling the cars.

I can either part them out but that would take a long while due to work commitments or I could just let the cars stay in the driveway and get back to them so to speak in about a year from now when I have a lot more time. In terms of selling, the market does not seem to favor modified FD's for now so this maybe an option.

I have a garage full of aftermarket parts, including; RZ Recaro's, Ohlins shocks, Mazdaspeed Reclining seats, Stack dash and lots of body panels and I know ultimately - I just want to build a REALLY nice FD. What to do!? It's killing me.

Current market is terrible for FDs. If I had to choose, I'd probably sell the car and keep all the rare parts. They'll get harder to find and certainly more expensive in a couple years.

unless they are fairly rare Rx-7's, don't let them sit. Its a trap. You will just become numb to seeing them not working.

The FD market isn't going to get any stronger or weaker for the most part. Take the hit sell them and wait to buy another one when you have time.

I'm with red dragon on the parts. If anything you will always be able to source a rx-7, rare parts are another story.

Rotary owners are hoarders. lol.

Thanks guys, good point made about the price of rare parts and demand. I for one have definitely been a hoarder. Going to be weighing up the options and doing a lot of math over the next few days.

If you want to "build" one like you mentioned, I say keep the rarest parts that you want to use for the build, sell the 2 cars, and then later on down the road when you're ready, buy a roller that you can build from the ground up.

Someone once told me that when you don't know what to do... listen to yourself. ...which is why I'm wondering why your asking this question given you said the above..^

Thanks for the input guys!

Think at the moment, i'll sell some of the parts and advertise the cars to get some $$ coming in. All the while save some of the more rare parts I have until a time when I'm ready to build an FD. Atleast that is the way it's looking. So for anyone looking for some Mazdaspeed Recliners, Stack Dash, RZ Recaro's, Ohlins and lots of electrical items watch the for sale space. Unless I change my mind again which is happening a lot in the past few days!
